The most important measure of this mahi is the voice of the people it serves

The heart of this mahi is found in the voices of the people themselves. This space shares reflections and feedback from whānau, social service professionals, supervision clients, training participants, and readers who have engaged with my programs, presentations, and books. These stories speak to the importance of honest conversations, and creating meaningful change within whānau and communities across Aotearoa.

Supervision

"Supervision with Holly has given me a reflective space that provides honest critique and always leaves me with food for thought. I will continue with Holly because I wouldn't want to travel my social work journey with anyone else. Thankyou for all you are and what you add to my kite"

"At 16 years old, I joined Whakapakari Ora at a time when I was struggling with confidence, self-love and family. That kaupapa became a turning point in my life. Through genuine care, support, and connection, I was surrounded by people who believed in me and wanted to see me grow. We were brought together like whānau, creating a space where healing and confidence could begin. The experiences we had changed me deeply. From travelling to Wellington and learning mindfulness at a Buddhist monastery, to reconnecting with our awa, and learning rongoā and mirimiri in Auckland, every journey helped me grow stronger in myself, my culture, and my voice. Without that support, I honestly do not know where I would be today. Because of that kaupapa, I am now studying social services and building my own pathway to help others. The love and care shown to me inspired me to become that same source of strength for rangatahi facing hardship today."

"Open, transparent and informative with a touch of aroha. Your passion and belief in what you do. You have a way of captivating your audience that very few are able to do without trying. Having experience to back up the korero makes you more relatable therefore gives more credence- substance to the words. It has helped me in more ways than I thought possible belief being right up there - in Myself, in being heard, in being seen, in being believed, in others.

"What stood out for me was the effort and careful guardianship of the tāne in terms of cutting through the superficial and drawing out the meaningful.

I felt aroha and compassion, the mana of the wāhine (facilitator) allowed me to explore my mindset in a different yet rewarding way.

The self reflection gave safe space to look deeper into my own thinking and recognise potential barriers that my ego was protecting. Now I see potential from spaces left behind for me to grow as a father."
